f. BRIEFLY describe your collaboration program’s social service delivery, if you have one, for example explain your crisis intervention and/or referral process(es):
Social Services Dept. collectively supports child care staff in addressing the social/emotional needs of children & families. The 3 social workers provide intervention services, including assessment of child & family needs & strengths, crisis intervention, education, linkage, advocacy, as well as individual, family & play therapy. Social workers also coordinate parent education groups on topics such as stress, violence, and discipline.

17. Please describe how budgeting and cost sharing among funding sources is done. How do you decide how costs will be shared? What are the financial arrangements between partners?
Standard allocation method is used based on number of children served, age category and funding sources, consistent with standard acceptable accounting practices. This is reviewed annually.
18. Please explain how your collaboration is staffed. Include classroom and support staff and tell how this is changed/different from your regular program. Who funds the staff’s salaries? Who supervises the staff and who employs them? What salaries and benefits are offered collaboration staff and is this different from other staff?
CPS helps fund part of staff’s salaries. One difference is that CPS requires 04 certified teachers in classrooms. We have three 04 certified teachers for 6 classrooms. The only different benefit is that they have the option of taking July & August off.
19. Please tell about your written agreement, if you have one. Include: what the agreement covers (section titles); term (what the time period is); if finances are part of the agreement and how these were figured; etc.
The term of agreement is one year. The Center complies with written annual budget provided by CPS.
20. Please describe the training system for your collaboration. Include what kind of training is done, how costs are shared among funding sources and/or partners, and how it has changed since the collaboration began.
The day-to-day training is done at the Center. CPS offers monthly training and small group training throughout the year (2-3 per month).

None that we are aware of.
22. If you could start your collaboration over again, knowing what you know now, what would you do differently?
I believe we were well informed when we first started the collaboration. I don’t think there is anything we would do differently.
23. What advice do you have for agencies/homes starting new collaborations?
Communicate with CPS sub-contracting agency. Attend Directors’ meetings. Ask lots of questions, especially in areas you are not sure about.
